Ferns and Mosses

Ferns, mosses and similar plant types need constant moisture and must not be allowed to totally dry out.

But there is no need to go overboard and keep them flooded or water logged.

The trunk of these Tree Ferns has a soft fibrous material in the centre which soaks up water like a sponge.

Likewise, these Button Moss contain a ball of absorbent material which has the same effect.

To keep them all healthy and green without wasting water, the best solution is a Moss Misting system which will coat the fronds in very fine water droplets.

These plants need a protective canopy such as this courtyard setting, or under shadecloth or other trees.
